Miss Great Britain raises £14,277

In February we were honoured to be one of the causes that the 75th Miss Great Britain competition supported alongside Cancer Research UK. The final took part at the Athena in Leicester with over 400 guests, where contestants took to the stage in fashion wear, swim wear & evening wear before being interviewed.

For the first time this year there was a new category for anyone over 28 years old – Ms Great Britain. The contest now attracts such a versatile mix of women, from full time Mums, those studying for various careers and this year there was a farmer, a rugby player, a doctor and a dentist taking part in the final.

The competition really does attract an eclectic mix of independent and empowered women who work together to help build the brand and the causes that they support.

Foe Alex’s Wish, Miss Great Britain has also been an amazing platform to raise awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, not only did we get in local papers around the country, but lots of articles featured local families with Duchenne, which has been a fantastic opportunity to spread the word. And after the final the press coverage was huge, even getting a mention on Good Morning Britain.

On top of all the awareness, the hard work and energy that has gone into raising money has been phenomenal – in total raising £47,591.06 has been raised – of which Alex’s Wish share was £14,277.32. Thank you so much ladies.
