Warm welcome to Heidi

We are so pleased that we have a new team member Heidi Eastell who joined us at the beginning of the week on a part time basis and will assist with the charity’s events.

Commenting on the new appointment Emma said, “Heidi comes to us with a wealth of event planning experience having worked in that field for many years.  We know that Heidi will be a huge asset to Alex’s Wish and help Zoe and I achieve our aim of raising much needed funds which we invest into developing treatments and – ultimately – a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy; a cruel and life-limiting illness affecting mainly boys including my son.

“Heidi has already started with us and has found herself knee-deep in helping to finalise arrangements for our AGM as well as a key event for us, our Charnwood Forest Cycle Ride which takes place in May.”

Heidi added, “I applied for the role at Alex’s Wish because I know Emma and Zoe and how tirelessly and selflessly they work.  Their determination and total transparency coupled with the fact that Alex is the strongest boy I know made me want this job and I am proud and very honoured to work with them.

“With a son close to Alex’s age, this charity is very close to my heart.  I hope that my own life and work skills and experience will help to support Emma and Zoe.  I’m really looking forward to adding in some new ideas here and there as well as working with them on their key, headline events.  It’s going to be a very busy and exciting time!”
