Thank you and Merry Christmas

As we near the end of 2020, we’ve been reflecting on what’s been achieved together.  We started the year with huge plans, with the momentum that we had established we were sure that this would be our most successful year yet!  How things changed.

However, we could not let COVID stop us, Duchenne will still be around long after we’ve been given the new vaccination for COVID.  So along with you, we have adapted and carried on pushing forward in the only way we know how.  This year has certainly shown us that resilience and determination is absolutely key.

We’ve still been able to honour all of the funds allocated to further our mission to end Duchenne. We have been able to invest £75K into 4 projects including: Creating new muscle with Stem Cells, funded a new clinical post who is positioned in Newcastle to help increase trial capacity, a project to improve the success rate of clinical trials and finally a project to help find quicker ways of diagnosing cardiac complications in mothers who carry the Duchenne gene.

We would like to thank every single one of you for your support and strength this year, helping us, at Alex’s Wish, get through this most difficult year and we very much look forward to fundraising together in 2021.   We also wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope 2021 is an altogether different year for all of us.

This video highlights the very best of 2020…
