Star Trust, a foundation which exists to assist smaller charities in the East Midlands which undertake some fantastic work but are often overlooked and unrecognized supported Alex’s Wish at their recent Happy Diamonds event held at Lumbers on Saturday, 10th September.

We were personally invited to attend this event and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. We were also given the opportunity to stand up and talk about the work Alex’s Wish does and why we exist. We would like to thank Janine Edwards from Star Trust and to Tim Maxhead and Steve Hampson (Co-Founders) for helping us raise an astonishing £12, 450.00 through the raffle and from personal donations.

Emma Hallam, Founder at Alex’s Wish says “We were blown away by the generosity in the room, guests were genuinely touched by our story and simply wanted to help us. Janine Edwards played a huge part in ensuring Alex’s Wish was apart of the evening and we thank her from the bottom of our hearts.  This is a huge amount of money to have raised in a single night and we cannot thank everyone enough. It was also a fabulous opportunity to share our story and raise awareness of Duchenne and the devastating impact it has on families affected. All the money raised on the evening will be used shortly to fund life-saving potential treatments for boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.”
