Spectacular Furnley House Summer Ball
June 28, 2018 2:38 pmWhat an amazing night we had at the Furnley House Summer Ball they put on an incredible show and raised over £30,000 for Alex’s Wish.
Over 160 guests enjoyed a drinks reception, great food and fabulous entertainment all evening. There were stilt walkers, a raffle, silent and live auction to win some fantastic prizes. Guests then got to see a fabulous fire show and were then wowed by the firework show of the year from Leicester Fireworks!
MD of Furnley House, Stefan said “Our hopes were, that on the night, the fantastic auction prizes, raffle items and other attractions help to raise lots of money and we weren’t disappointed – we raised a whopping £30,550!
And on top of that, we had a great night with some great people. It was fantastic to see lots of familiar faces and a few new faces helping us make this a success.”
Emma from Alex’s Wish commented on the ball saying:
“This is the biggest amount that has been raised from an event not run by Alex’s Wish. The amount raised comes at a fantastic time for us, it was only last week that some really promising news has come through on gene therapy development for boys that have Duchenne. This money is going to help promising new treatment for all children and young adults affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
We would like to thank Stefan and the Furnley House team for coming up with the idea of the Summer Ball to support Alex’s wish – raising such an incredible amount is wonderful news for us. Thank you to everyone that came along and donated so generously – it will all help to help save children’s lives.
We look forward to continuing our work with Furnley House over the coming months.”
Stefan went on to say “We want to make the Furnley House Summer Ball a date for the diary for many summers to come and we’re already planning and looking forward to next year’s ball”
