Raising £10,000 for Alex’s Wish

Two of our fabulous supporters Donna Brenchley & Jacky Ekins have raised £10,000 for Alex’s Wish.  Donna and Jacky have known each other from school and decided to celebrate a BIG birthday by cycling from London to Paris.  This was the second time that Donna has ridden this ride for Alex’s Wish (you would have thought that she would have learnt!) and this time she convinced Jacky to join her.

Setting off from London at 7am on a Friday they cycled 100 miles a day for three days, through a wide variety of weather and landscapes!  On day 3 – the last leg in to Paris – we received the bad news that Josh, an 11 year old boy from Warrington had passed away with complications bought on by Duchenne.  This sad news gave Donna & Jacky the inspiration they needed to finish the ride and hit their target of £10,000 – both of which they did.  Finishing in style in Paris with a well deserved glass of Fizz!
