Screen Free Week

Event Date: 20/05/2019

It should come as no surprise that the pressure to be available all hours of the day on social media is a very real challenge. In fact, for the vast majority of us, social media is a daily part of life.

Screen-Free Week is a fun way to rethink our dependence on digital entertainment, including television, video games, smartphones, tablets, and computers. It’s a chance for children — and adults — to power down and reconnect with the world around them. And it encourages families to reconsider the role of digital entertainment in the year that follows (for example, some families become inspired to go screen-free at meals or in the hour before bedtime, or to spend part or all of their weekends screen-free).

WHO and WHERE?
Anyone can participate by simply refraining from using digital entertainment during Screen-Free Week. But experience tells us that it’s more fun – and much easier – to go screen-free with others.

Be part of something great in 2019 – starting Monday 20th May – join us at SCREEN FREE WEEK to UNPLUG and PLAY

Join us at Screen-Free Week and take a break from digital entertainment. You can still use devices for work or school but……

GET RID OF television, video games, smartphones, tablets, and computers. It’s a chance for children — and adults — to power down and reconnect with the world around them.

INSTEAD you can spend all that free time playing, reading, daydreaming, creating, exploring, and connecting with family and friends!

It’s so easy to do! Simply ask 10 people to sponsor you £2 each (suggested donation) to go without TV and gaming for one week and then ask 5 people you know to do the same. You can still use social media to tell everyone you’re doing this and show how you’re spending your time.

Simply register with us  – zoe@alexswish.co.uk  – and we will send out your ‘Screen Free’ pack that contains lots of alternatives to screens, sponsorship form, and your pledge form.
