#CTD2021

Today is Clinical Trials Day, the work we do at Alex’s Wish is to fund clinical trials that will hopefully one day see Duchenne cured for good!  Our very own Alex has taken part in two clinical trials, he’s still taking part in a trial with Ilfarmaco at Newcastle Hospital to help advance medical science for the greater good.

Clinical Trials are so important to help prove that medicines make a difference to the health of people living with medical conditions like Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.  They also give so much hope to families like ourselves.  Alex continues to do well and we remain hopeful the drug he is taking is helping him keep on his feet.

Over the past 10 years, we’ve funded 27 different projects from early-stage research to clinical trials and its with thanks to our fabulous supporters that we’ve been able to do this.  Let’s all celebrate #CDT2021, COVID-19 made 2020 the most challenging year in decades – but clinical researchers rose to the challenge. Thanks to clinical trials, millions of doses of life-saving vaccines have been developed and administered around the world, giving hope for a better year ahead.

Hope. That’s what clinical researchers provide. Every day, they rise to a new challenge and give patients and families hope for a healthier, more promising tomorrow.
