What a joyous night it was – An Evening with Nigel Owens MBE.

A huge thank you to Ella and Rich for all your hard work over the last six months, selling tickets, getting together amazing prizes and arranging all the details for the event itself. Ella is a fireball of energy and when she says she will do something there is no stopping her. Her determination and tenacity overcame any obstacle that was put in her way! Thank you fellow Alex’s Wish ambassador Rich Copson for stepping in last minute to be Nigel’s warm up act, the MC and compare for the evening, and the most effective and entertaining auctioneer ever. Not to mention getting all of the signed rugby memorabilia from his contacts in the England rugby team. What an amazing team!

Thank you to Syston Rugby Club, a fabulous venue and a huge support, helping us every step of the way, and to Ben’s Kitchen for the amazing food and the incredible catering team.

Thankyou to all of the many people who donated auction prizes, including many of the businesses around Syston and Ella’s Mum, Valerie Stiles, for knitting a baby shawl and embroidering 20 THIS IS NOT SOCCER toilet rolls, these are always very well received, and Nigel loved his Welsh version too.

And finally a big thank you to each and every single person who bought tickets and made the event come to life. An even bigger thanks goes to all of the people who spent generously on the auction prizes. The evening raised an amazing £8500!! Incredible!!
