Alex’s Wish scoops up prestigious award!
October 4, 2016 12:04 pmCelebrating the success of business women in the East Midlands!
Alex’s Wish Founder Emma Hallam picked up an award at the National Women in Business (The Midlands Regional Final) for the Not-for-Profit/Social Enterprise on Wednesday, 28th September. During the celebratory lunch attended by a number of senior and influential business leaders at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Birmingham, winners received their glass trophies which were presented to the winners by HSBC’s Debra White. Griselda Togobo, MD and owner of Forward Ladies, said “Our National Women in Business Awards Programme is in its 7th year and we are once again delighted to be working in partnership with HSBC to showcase the best women-led businesses in the UK. There is a huge amount of female talent across the UK and it’s an honor to be able to showcase and celebrate their achievements.”
Up against some strong competition, Emma says “I am absolutely delighted that I won this prestigious award. As a small charity set-up from my dining room, I had no idea that one day our charity would be recognized in this way. It was such a delight to meet all the finalists and tell them about Alex’s Wish and why we are now raising funds to give boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy the future they deserve. Events like these create such a fabulous platform to raise awareness about your cause.”
Emma will now appear in front of a panel of judges on 16th November and will be entered into the Grand Final in Leeds on 1st December.
