Valentines Ball is a fundraising hit!

Leicester based Fashion UK are celebrating after putting on a charity Valentines Ball in aid Alex’s Wish.  The event took place at The Maher Centre in Leicester who also made a £1,000 donation on the night.

Emma Hallam, Founder of Alex’s Wish said, “It was an amazing night made all the more special by the kind generosity of those who attended.  We received two incredible donations from The Maher Centre and from Barclays Bank plus ticket sales and donations from those who were unable to attend.  In total almost £6,000 was raised and every penny of it will go into funding potential new treatments and ultimately a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy – a cruel and life limiting condition. We can’t thank Dhiru and Gurdev enough for putting this event on to raise vital funds for our cause.”

Dhiru Shah who works with Fashion UK as their accountant and who played a large part in the organisation of the event said, “I would like to thank everyone who attended and made the night so special.  We were also supported by B-Audio Visual and Britvic plus a host of fantastic dancers and entertainers.  My heartfelt thanks go out to each of them too as well as all of the companies and individuals who made donations in the run up this event, I am thrilled we could raise so much money for boys like Alex and hope a cure is found very soon.”

Gurdev Mattu, Managing Director, Fashion UK concluded saying, “We had a tremendous night promoting Alex`s Wish in a fun way and to tie it in with a national event day like Valentine`s Day gave it the wide appeal we wanted.  About 500 people enjoyed the evening with us and we were very pleased with the extra awareness that we raised for the charity – a huge bonus to the money raised.  It was made all the more special by a guest appearance from the very brave Alex himself and I thank him very much for joining us.”

Thank you to team Fashion UK – proud business support of Alex’s Wish.
