Rothley Primary School Walk for Alex’s Wish

July 10, 2017 3:34 pm
Alex’s School – Rothley Primary School invited all their children to take part in a sponsored walk which included a toddle for the youngest children, as well as a 3 mile and a 5 mile walk for the eldest children to raise money for Alex’s Wish.

Alex leaves the school this year to start senior school so it was so lovely that they decided to support Alex’s Wish and they have been wonderfully supportive of him whilst enabling him to enjoy his childhood as much as possible. For them to put on this event was amazing. It was an incredible event, beautifully organised and a pleasure to be involved in. I would like to say a huge thank you to them for all their efforts.

After the event the school held a celebration assembly at which they announced the grand total raised for Alex’s Wish as well as discussed themes of sharing, doing things for others and taking part.

The grand total is £5,968.25!!!!!!! We are so overwhelmed by how much everyone has raised  – a HUGE amount to be invested in finding a cure or treatment for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. So thank you to Rothley Primary School, all the staff, pupils and parents and thank you so much for making Alex’s primary school years so memorable.
