Rothley Duck Race is launched

April 27, 2018 8:46 am

This week we went along to the ‘Eggs’ in Rothley to unveil plans for the fourth annual duck race

It was a lovely morning and great to see Barbara McCarthy and Louise Reynolds from The Jake McCarthy Foundation and Yvonne Pulford (Tilinanu Orphanage) helping to raise awareness of the event, which takes place at 6.30pm on Thursday 21 June in Bunney’s Field (near The Woodman’s Stroke pub).

The Nottingham is sponsoring the race. Rothley branch Customer Services Assistant Benjamin Price expressed his delight at how the event has grown over the years.

He said: “Year-on-year the duck race has grown in popularity and is now ingrained into Rothley life. It’s a really fun event that not only brings the community together but also helps raise valuable funds for charities that mean a lot to local people.

“That fits really well with our ethos as a mutual building society offering an ‘all-under-one-roof’ range of savings, estate agency and financial planning products and services because alongside that we are committed to supporting our local communities.

“We are proud to be involved in the Rothley Duck Race once again and are anticipating that, weather permitting, it will be even bigger and better than ever before.”

It would be great if you could come along and support us at the Duck Race and let us know if you want to buy a duck at£2 each!
