Play raises £1,000 for Alex’s Wish

One of our fabulous supporters, Dhiru Shah recently organised a comedy play in Gujarati called – Lagan Ni Vyaadhi and Divorce Ni Upaadhi  ( literally meaning Stress about marriage but even greater stress about getting a divorce)  on 11 Nov at Sue Townsend Theatre.

Initially the tickets sales were very slow and he nearly decided to cancel and cut his losses. But Bharti Acharya, Secretary of Shree Sanatan Mandir, Leicester  encouraged him to carry on with the full support of the temple to ensure that tickets do sell raising the funds to donate to Alex’s Wish Charity.

The play did take place and it ended up being a fabulous success raising a fabulous £1,000.  Emma and Alex were invited to Shree Sanatan Mandir to collect the cheque, they were so well received with light refreshments, friendly smiles  We are so grateful to the whole Hindu and Jain Community for supporting us in this way.  Once again we would like to thank Dhiru Shah, Usha Shah, Keval Shah, Avneet Mattu, Mr Rashmi Joshi, who is the Lord Mayor, Bharti Acharya and Hema – such a lovely, caring community.
