Chris Everard joins Alex’s Wish as a Trustee

Midlands businessman, Chris Everard, has joined us as the newest Trustee.  Having met the Emma at a business event Chris invited her to be a part of Vistage UK, an invitation only private advisory group for Managing Directors, Executives and business owners.  Chris soon bought into the our vision of finding treatments and, ultimately, a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and expressed interest in joining the Board as a Trustee.

In order for Alex’s Wish to be the very best it can be we need a great team around us.  Our Trustees are our critical friends.  They question what we do and how we do it so that we never lose sight of our aim which is to raise as much money as possible so that we can invest that money into clinical trials and clinical trial capacity thereby finding new treatments and, ultimately, a cure for Duchenne.

Chris brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise and over the months that we’ve been working with him as part of Vistage we have come to value and respect his thoughts and opinions.  We were delighted when Chris accepted a Trustee position with Alex’s Wish and we look forward to working with him over the months and years ahead.

Commenting on his appointment Chris said, “There are few who have met Emma who have not been moved to help her and Alex’s Wish achieve their aims.  As a growing charity with some impressive aims and objectives, including raising £1,000,000 by 2020, I know that I can help out and add in thoughts and advice as necessary. I am very much looking forward to working with the rest of the Trustees as well as the wider volunteer team and in helping Alex’s Wish achieve all of its ambitions.”

As a fast growing charity we are in need of Trustees who can bring their experience and skills to our Board.  That is one way people in our community can help, but there are plenty of other ways that both businesses and individuals can get involved with Alex’s Wish – from volunteering, to holding an event, to putting in a team at one of our events, to becoming a Wish Warrior through to taking part in our Give As You Earn scheme which is hugely cost effective to both employer and employee.
